Twelve Nights

A month ago, I saw a movie called "Twelve Nights." At first, I was moved by the speech which Giddens (九把刀), a famous writer, and the director, Raye made.

This movie is a documentary about those stray dogs that have been caught to temporary shelter waiting for people to adopt them or else they will be injected in euthanasia. I think the purpose of this movie is to awaken people's consciousness that how serious these problems can go on. It will not be solved simply by catching them and sending them to death. Many people can't even step into the theater to watch the movie because they are afraid of emotionally breakdown. However, this wasn't the main purpose the director wanted. She wants everyone to see the fact that are happening through our daily lives, and to correct those misunderstandings about stray dogs.

To be honest, I thought I would cry when I saw the movie. Out of my surprise, the only feeling I felt was deeply heartburn. To know is one thing but to see is another. You wouldn't believe how cruel people can be until you see the movie.

Nevertheless, after the movie spread out, people gain awareness of stray dogs and the rate of adopt also grow a lot. It is a relief to know that more dogs have been saved from death and I hope people can love them once they own a pet!

(This is my lovely pet dog with me!!! Her name is Wei-Wei薇薇 which is named by my father.
She is almost seven years old now, and she was only two months old when she first came to my home.)

Equinox Awakening 1956

This weekend we had a job about receiving people who wanted to attend the drama during either days. sounds like a hard work because we also had many activities going on and the same time.
During the time we were taking rest between the drama, we watched most part of it and were shocked by the story as well as acting. I supposed this exceed every thing we saw before on stage and with these unforgettable experience we can do better than before!

Dream trip

It was a beautiful evening when I was wandering down the road. An aged couple walked pass me with a smile gave me a good mood. The left side was a parking lot full of cars and  tourists who were excited to take a look around. Facing the scenery in front of me was an island settling in the middle of the sea. I step towards to the sward to take a closer look of  the boats floating above the sea and enjoyed the warmness from the sun shine. Houses were mostly dark gray and sharp tops with a chimney on the roof. If I had time to stay here all day long, I believe I won't be dreary at these beautiful surroundings!

First ride

I believe most of the college student had already have a motorcycle licence after graduating from high school. If not, the rest of them should have one when being a freshman. However, I might be the one who doesn't know how to ride a motorcycle.
Well......I have to admit that I do afraid riding a motorcycle, because even a bicycle did I learn how to ride is when I was in fifth grade of elementary school. I am too afraid of falling down and getting hurt due to my light weight. The main reason of all is that my parents don't trust my riding skills and also many people in Taiwan don't follow the traffic rules which often cause accidents.
At first, not having a motorcycle licence doesn't bother me at all. Gradually living in Douliu this spacious city, I find out that riding a bicycle is hard to survive here. You have to spend a ling time riding on the big road to your destination.

As a matter of fact, I prefer sitting at the back enjoying the wind blowing by my face and the speed that makes me feel like flying that helps me forget everything unhappy in that moment.

Few days ago, I took courage to try riding a motorcycle. In the beginning, I was scared to accelerate because I was still figuring the speed and feeling. Yet the first try was a thrilling experience.
A couple of days after, I tried to ride from Huwei (虎尾) back to Douliu (斗六). Although there wasn't many cars on the road and I rode at those smaller paths. It was still a huge improvement to me of not being afraid of cars.

Actually the reason why I started to learn this is because after the year 2014, anyone who decides to have this licence has to take a 90 minute course in advance which sounds annoying to me. Learning to ride a motorcycle sometimes still a psychological disorder to me, and I hope I can get through it someday!

EncountORs

"EncoutORs" is not a spelling mistake.
This means people meeting in the party which is the main highlight of our X'mas party.

CE x DAFL - Christmas Party

It is almost the end of 2013, and time seems to fly really fast after entering DAFL student association. Before heading towards 2014, we have one of the most important event throughout the whole department which is the X'mas party!!!
Different from what we held before, we choose to cooperate with CE to hold a big party in the school. Anyone can attend this party enjoying our games, music, dancing and snacks we offered that day.

This is the first big event we are planning on which makes us all very nervous, because in the same time we still have a lot of activities going on. We all wish to be impressed by others and have a unforgettable experience on that day.

Sleeping

Before I entered college, I used to go to bed before 11. Gradually the time I go to bed started to be pushed later more and more. Until now I had turned into a sophomore, the time I went to bed was always around midnight before sunrise.
Though I tried several times to avoid this situation to happen, the effort I made was in vain.

Being in the DAFL student association, works and activities kept popping out. Schedule was filled with notes and barely had any hour empty. Also I had a TA job to do, spending one or two hour every day filled up the time after dinner. By the time I finally stepped into my room, it was already past 10. This is the main time I can handle my schoolwork, but it was hard to focus on since the long day I had been through.

So the most I cherish is the time for sleeping. As long as there is an hour I will close my eyes right away and can fall asleep within three seconds undoubtedly. If I had my weekends off, I almost spend my time sleeping at home to power up my energy. It reminds me of my brother who did the same as me before which I can't understand the reason. However, I now can stand in his shoe.
I have nothing big to ask for but a vacation or days off to sleep well and long.

Sophomore

Sophomore = suffer more?

This was an interesting metaphor that I saw few days ago from my friend. The moment I saw this  I burst out laughter. My head nodded quickly.
Being a sophomore not only added my schoolwork but also change my daily routine. I chose to become one of the DAFL student association member and also do some part time TA for Joanne. These made a huge difference during my second year of college life.
When I was still a freshman, I took few courses and spent my time doing meaningless things or just sleeping in the dorm. I went back to my hometown, Taichung, every week.

After a year, things had totally changed.

During my leisure time, I spent time with the freshmen in design department for the purpose of enhancing their English speaking ability. That was my main job of being a TA for Joanne. After dinner time, we often had meetings to plan activities for our DAFL department. Sometimes we would invite other department to hold some activities with us which took more time to plan and hold meetings. I seldom had time to take a small break or hang out with friends.

"Do you regret being one of the DAFL student association member?", a friend of mine asked.
"How could you get tired on things you like to do?", I responded.

Although some people couldn't realize what we are doing, I believe as long as I had the passion and energy then I could do anything I want. Nothing can stop you to move on.

brand new start

It has been a long time since the last time I type in a blog. I remember we used to have a blog called "wretch" during our high school times until Facebook became popular between teenagers. Writing this reminds me of the old days. Although Facebook is more easy to use and browse, writing a blog is better to say out what all you think with such a big page. Things just fade away time to time, and this is what we can't stop or change.

Since memory started come back to me, I went back to my old blog and browse it over again. I can't help but laugh out when watching those posts. Remembering what I was thinking at that time is a special experience. What happened in the posts were just like yesterday.

The picture under is my classmates in high school. Although we all studied in different colleges, we still get together once in a while or chat online. Looking back at the past makes me realize how much I miss them.
